iGaming Talent Pulse — Week 39: IGT names a new Chief Studios Officer, Betsson discloses a rare salary range, Cosmolot proves UAH 1.5bn in tax compliance, Kyiv hiring freezes at PIN-UP and Favbet

A weekly read on hiring, licenses, and executive moves shaping the iGaming labor market — and what each signal means for talent leaders.

💜 by the IDN Recruitment team

This was a quieter week for hard numbers across the industry, but the signals that did surface point the same direction: consolidation, not expansion. A legacy Western supplier is protecting its content organisation through a planned leadership handover rather than a reshuffle. A Nordic-listed operator is one of the only companies in the market disclosing an actual salary figure, at a moment when senior product and data talent is scarce enough to make that transparency a competitive tool. In Ukraine, a major licensed casino brand is using a hard tax-compliance number to rebuild market credibility after a rocky year, while two of the CIS region’s best-known employer brands are showing almost no open headcount in their home hub. Read together, it’s a market pausing to stabilise before its next hiring cycle — which is exactly the moment recruiters should be building pipeline, not waiting for reqs to reopen.

1. IGT names Jamie Knight Chief Studios Officer, overseeing a 1,200+ person studio organisation

IGT has appointed Jamie Knight as Chief Studios Officer effective January 1, 2027, succeeding Jean Venneman, who is retiring December 31, 2026 after building the studio team to more than 1,200 employees, according to PR Newswire.

Why it matters: This succession comes months after IGT trimmed roughly 700 roles (about 10% of its global workforce) following its Everi merger and take-private by Apollo — so a planned, non-disruptive handover at the top of a 1,200-person content organisation signals IGT is ring-fencing studio/content capability even while it restructures elsewhere. Recruiters should watch for downstream re-organisation under Knight through Q1 2027 — game studio directors, RGS product leads and slot math/design heads are the roles most likely to see movement as the new leadership sets its own structure. Candidates currently at IGT Studios with 2-4 years’ tenure are a reasonable proactive-sourcing pool regardless of outcome, since leadership transitions typically prompt some voluntary movement beneath them.

2. Betsson lists 114 open roles group-wide and publishes a $125,000–$150,000 salary band for a Malta/Athens/Stockholm product role

Betsson’s official careers portal currently shows 114 open vacancies across the group, including a “Head of SB Product – Data & AI” role open across Malta, Athens and Stockholm (Betsson Group careers); a listing for the same role on SportsTechJobs discloses a compensation range of $125,000–$150,000.

Why it matters: Published salary ranges are rare in this industry, and a senior sportsbook product/data hybrid role is exactly the profile CIS/EE candidates struggle to benchmark against, since Western comparables are usually hidden. This figure gives recruiters a credible anchor for compensation conversations with candidates being courted for similar product-and-AI hybrid roles elsewhere. The 114-role count and the multi-city posting (rather than a single hub) also suggest Betsson is still actively expanding its sportsbook product function even as much of the sector talks about cost discipline — a useful contrast to flag to clients weighing whether to pause hiring.

3. Cosmolot discloses over UAH 1.54 billion (~$37M) paid in Ukrainian taxes since 2024, rebuilding credibility after its licence turbulence

Cosmolot, the Ukrainian online casino brand owned by Nevada Gaming Holding, says it has paid more than UAH 1.54 billion in taxes and fees to the state budget between January 2024 and August 2026 — UAH 1.43bn in profit/income tax, UAH 57m in licence fees and UAH 46.3m in other taxes and fees — according to DSNews.ua.

Why it matters: Cosmolot had its licence revoked and was fined earlier in 2026 before resuming operations, so this voluntary compliance disclosure functions as an employer-branding move as much as a financial one — it tells candidates and partners the operator is stable enough to build a career at. A “rehabilitated” Cosmolot is a stronger placement target than it was six months ago, particularly for compliance, legal and finance hires who weigh regulatory standing before joining. Watch for this brand to re-open hiring in Kyiv over the next quarter as it leans into the stability narrative.

4. PIN-UP and Favbet show almost no open Kyiv roles — 0 and 3 vacancies respectively, none above mid-level

As of September 28, PIN-UP Global’s listing on Ukraine’s leading tech job board shows zero open vacancies (DOU.ua), while Favbet shows just three — a Recruitment Lead (Mass Hiring), a Tax Attorney and a Regulatory Lawyer, none at director or head level (DOU.ua).

Why it matters: These two brands are among the most recognisable iGaming employers in the CIS/Eastern Europe talent market, so a near-total pause in visible Kyiv hiring is a meaningful data point, not noise. It could reflect completed hiring cycles, budget freezes pending year-end planning, or work shifting to nearshore/relocated teams outside Ukraine — any of which matters for how candidates currently weighing offers from these brands should be advised. Treat both as passive-candidate-source markets for now rather than active hiring clients, and watch DOU.ua listings for a reopening, which would be an early signal of the wider Ukrainian iGaming labor market thawing.

The common thread

Every signal this week points the same way: established players are consolidating their position — through leadership continuity, through unusually transparent pay signalling, through public compliance proof points, or simply by holding headcount flat — rather than visibly expanding. For talent leaders, that’s a cue to use this quieter window to build candidate pipelines and refresh compensation benchmarks before the next hiring cycle opens, rather than waiting for job counts to move. IDN Recruitment tracks exactly these signals across both the Western-major and CIS/Eastern Europe segments of this market, and can help clients get ahead of the next wave of reqs rather than compete for candidates once everyone else has noticed it too.
