iGaming Talent Pulse — Week 42: Entain’s CEE exit advances, Betsson’s Malta hiring surge, SoftSwiss and Digitain build out CIS hubs, Kyiv vacancies go quiet

A weekly read on hiring, licenses, and executive moves shaping the iGaming labor market — and what each signal means for talent leaders.

💜 by the IDN Recruitment team

This was a genuinely quiet week for hard news — no fresh fines, confirmed layoffs, or executive reshuffles cleared our verification bar for 12–19 October 2026, across either global majors or CIS/EE-facing operators. What did surface, instead, is a live divergence in where hiring capacity is actually sitting right now: Western majors like Betsson keep expanding headcount in Malta, CIS-facing platform providers SoftSwiss and Digitain are quietly building multi-hub teams spanning Warsaw, Poznań, Tbilisi and Yerevan, and — most tellingly — some of the biggest CIS-market brands (PIN-UP, Parimatch, GG.BET) show almost no open roles on Ukraine’s own job board despite sizeable regional footprints. Layered on top is Entain’s advancing ~€2.1bn divestment of its CEE business, a structural move that typically precedes talent churn well before any redundancy notice is filed. For recruiters, the lesson this week is less about counting job cuts and more about reading where hiring decisions are quietly concentrating — and where they’ve quietly stopped.

1. Entain advances its ~€2.1bn CEE divestment, confirms Q4 2026 close in Q3 trading update

Entain’s Q3 2026 trading update reported Group NGR up 2% at constant currency (UK&I NGR +8%) and confirmed its phased exit from Entain CEE remains on track, with the initial 20% stake sale to EMMA Capital valuing the CEE business at roughly €2.1bn (about 10x EBITDA). Gambling.com

Why it matters: A business unit changing hands under new private-equity ownership almost always triggers leadership turnover and retention risk well before any formal restructuring is announced — new owners typically bring in their own CFO/COO-level appointees and re-scope regional teams within the first two quarters. Recruiters sourcing CEE-based commercial, compliance, and country-manager talent should treat this as an early signal to start building a bench now, both for roles EMMA Capital will need to fill and for Entain CEE staff who may become available once the deal closes. No headcount figures have been disclosed yet, so this is a structural-risk signal rather than a confirmed vacancy wave — worth tracking closely into Q4.

2. Betsson’s live job board shows 111 open roles, with Malta still the largest single hub at 32 postings (29%)

A direct check of Betsson’s Greenhouse board on 19 October 2026 showed 111 open positions company-wide, with Malta the single largest hub (32 roles), ahead of Tbilisi, Buenos Aires, Croatia, Vilnius, Tallinn, Malaga, Stockholm, Budapest and Athens; named director/head-level roles in Malta include Director of Product, Head of Product Design, and Head of HR – Support Functions & Malta. Why it matters: Malta’s pull for Betsson hasn’t slowed, and the mix of senior product, design, and HR leadership roles signals the company is still building out functional leadership there rather than just backfilling operational seats. Recruiters with a Malta bench in product management, UX leadership, and HR business-partner profiles have a live, named target list here — and the multi-hub spread (Tbilisi, Vilnius, Tallinn alongside Malta) shows Betsson is hedging its hiring geography, which is worth watching if you also place candidates in those secondary hubs.

3. SoftSwiss keeps 54 roles open across Warsaw, Poznań, Tbilisi and Malta, with 40 flagged as “Hot Vacancies”

SoftSwiss’s own careers site listed 54 open vacancies as of 19 October 2026, 40 of them tagged “Hot Vacancies,” spread across Warsaw, Poznań, Tbilisi and Malta, with additional listings tagged to Serbia, Bulgaria and Brazil. SoftSwiss Careers

Why it matters: SoftSwiss is one of the clearest examples this week of a CIS-origin platform provider actively diversifying its hiring geography beyond its historical base — the Warsaw–Poznań–Tbilisi–Malta spread suggests deliberate hub-building rather than opportunistic hiring. The 40 “hot” flags point to urgency in specific functions, which is exactly where a recruiter with an active CIS/EE tech bench should be proactively pitching candidates rather than waiting for inbound. Platform and B2B infrastructure talent (not just operator-side roles) is clearly in demand here.

4. Digitain’s hiring is concentrated almost entirely in Yerevan — 59 listings on its BuiltIn board

Digitain’s job board on BuiltIn showed 59 total listings as of 19 October 2026, with nearly all roles based in Yerevan, Armenia, spanning product, data, compliance and support functions, plus one Madrid-based role. Digitain on BuiltIn

Why it matters: Digitain’s near-total concentration of open roles in Yerevan is a strong signal that Armenia continues to anchor the company’s core workforce, not just its back office — this matters for recruiters building a CIS/EE candidate pipeline who may be under-indexed on Yerevan as a hub relative to Kyiv, Warsaw or Tbilisi. The breadth of functions (product and compliance alongside support) suggests this isn’t a support-center build-out but a genuine engineering and product base, which raises the ceiling on the seniority of roles worth sourcing for there.

5. PIN-UP, Parimatch and GG.BET show near-zero open roles on Ukraine’s DOU.ua board despite large regional footprints

DOU.ua listings checked 19 October 2026 showed 0 open vacancies for Parimatch Ukraine, 0 for both PIN-UP Global and PIN-UP Tech (despite PIN-UP’s DOU profile citing offices in Kyiv, Warsaw, Yerevan, Lima, Limassol and Almaty with 800–1,500 staff), and just 2 for GG.BET (an Art Director role posted 24 September and a Head of Retention role posted 21 September). GG.BET on DOU.ua, Parimatch Ukraine on DOU.ua, PIN-UP Global on DOU.ua

Why it matters: This is the most striking pattern of the week — three of the CIS market’s best-known brands have effectively gone silent on Ukraine’s primary tech job board, even though none of them have announced a Ukraine exit or downsizing. That gap likely means hiring for these brands is now happening through other channels (direct LinkedIn sourcing, recruiter-only pipelines, or hubs outside Ukraine), which is exactly the kind of shift that rewards recruiters with direct relationships at these companies rather than those relying on public job-board monitoring. If you have warm contacts inside PIN-UP, Parimatch, or GG.BET’s talent teams, now is the time to use them — public postings are clearly no longer where their hiring signal lives.

The common thread

None of this week’s signals are dramatic on their own, but together they describe an industry where hiring activity is relocating rather than disappearing: Western majors keep deepening their Malta base, CIS-origin platform providers are quietly diversifying into multi-hub footprints (Warsaw-Poznań-Tbilisi-Yerevan), and some of the most recognizable CIS-market brands have stopped using public job boards as their primary hiring channel altogether — all while Entain’s CEE divestment hints at more structural change still to come in the region. For talent leaders, the risk this week isn’t missing a headline — it’s assuming “quiet” means “nothing to source.” IDN works across exactly this kind of shifting geography, with direct relationships into both the Western-major and CIS/EE operator ecosystems, so reach out if you want help building a pipeline in the hubs where hiring has gone quiet in public but is still very much alive.
